CONSORTIUM
The Williamstown Art Conservation Center was founded by a consortium of art institutions and retains its collective ethos.
The Williamstown Art Conservation Center was founded by a consortium of five museums and remains a member collective. Membership is offered to all nonprofit cultural institutions including museums, historic sites, educational institutions, and others. Membership fees are determined on a sliding scale. Benefits include:
- reduced rates for all conservation services
- priority scheduling
- consultation with WACC staff on collections care and other conservation matters
- advance notification of workshops, seminars, and special offerings
- subscription to Art Conservator, WACC's twice-yearly conservation publication
The consortium ensures that professional conservation services are available to institutions that would otherwise be unable to supply them for themselves. Member institutions participate in the governance of WACC, including electing and serving as trustees, overseeing the Center's operating charter, and contributing to policy.
For further information or to join, call WACC at 413-458-5741 or contact us at wacc@williamstownart.org.
